I just purchased a Teac mvd100 dvd/vcr combo. whilst playing Die another day, the picture locks up about half way through and can not be scanned forward or moved to the next chapter. I take the dvd back to VEzy and they swap it....no probs......except the same thing happens at exactly the time . I then put it in the PS2 and guess what.......it works fine. The next movie, The lost batallion plays without a problem so.. cool I thought. Then today watching ,The road to perdition. it locks up again and wont scan etc again, and this movie also works fine on the PS2..............................any ideas:confused:

Might be an internal ram issue. The teac machine may not have the grunt to handle the disc [this was very common with LoTR but haven't heard it happening to Die Another Day]
Very strange.
With that said, I've found Teac DVD players to be quite crappy so I can only shudder at the thought of a DVD / VCR combo!
PS: I may be a little too harsh on Teac, but the first player I got was one and it turned out to be a real lemon.

Thanks for that info Mr Macabre, It would appear that the unit was having issues changing layers! Problem was fixed easily with an exchange on an LG unit with about twice the features at no extra cost.

I bought a MVD100 Combo player and have the same problem with Various DVD's! They play okay on the computer!
I've also had problems with the VCR, distorted pictures. Tape cleaner didnt fix the problem. I had it serviced under warranty and the VCR seems to be working however the DVD still had problems!
My thoughts now... CRAP, NEVER BUY ANOTHER TEAC!
