Drive.com.au running a simple poll that asks "Which mid size car would
you buy?"
The results so far are a bit of a surprise, particularly regarding the
Liberty;

1 - Mazda6 @ 33% of votes
2 - Accord Euro @ 23%
3 - Mondeo @ 22%
4 - Liberty @ 16%
5 - Camry @ 5%
6 - Epica @ 1%

I'm not authorized to answer. I've never owned a car of
any size, and don't plan to.

Need to move onto the pickup truck survey :-)

Why no Hyundais in there ? The Sonata is not a bad bit of kit and good
bang for buck . people must be starting to twig though as teh resale
values appear to be improving at least on the NF series

22% for the new Mondeo is pretty good considering it's a re-release of an
original poor seller. It would not surprise me if it took over #1 position
within a few months on that basis alone. The Euro is still my personal
choice though.

I surprised myself and picked the 6! A good diesel and availability of
a hatch (almost as versatile as a wagon).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Mazda6 2008 model is top notch. If I were in the market for a
reasonably-priced mid-sized car, I'd buy it with no hesitation.
The Mondeo is good, too. You won't go wrong with the top 5.
The Crapica I won't touch... it's a Daewoo.
If a Camry is on the list where's the Aurion, they are exactly the same
size?
According to the song, yes. But wearing of blue/purple/yellow/or red
skivvies is a pre-requisite! ;-p
I was thinking same!
Also, if I was spending my own money I'd put the Sonata/Magentis
(twins under the skin, apparently) somewhere very close to the top,
subject to a test drive .
To my surprise today I saw a black epichuck on the road.
Even more surprising is the lack of a Maxima, considering it has probably
the best engine of the lot.
Of that lot I'd have the Liberty, but wouldn't be terribly disappointed if
there were none left and I had to cop an Accord. The rest you can shove up
your Jacksie sideways :)
It'd wanna make a *lot* more power than the current one, as it's engine is
almost embarrassing.
because TMCA insist on calling the Aurion a "large" car, and seem to have sucked
the Oz motoring mags into believing it too.
Yup probably the only reason is that the Aurions park brake is foot
operated so it gives the illusion of extra interior space. :-)
