dvd vcr combo, whats good

Hi guies,

I would like to buy a DVD VCR combo player, could one of you experts suggest a brand name and model as i'm really new to this, I never owned a dvd player except the one on my pc. It would be good if you have a website to reviews or something. price range is $300-$400.

Seems like the Teac is best avoided and the LG/Samsung ones are ok. Check some of the other recent posts on the subject.

Personally though I'd rather spend $100 on a basic DVD player and $150~$180 on a basic VCR.
