Contemplating a Benchmark Dac1 as a headphone amp?

Readers..

I've been searching for a top headphone amp to drive my AKG K701 phones
which I believe are great. I have researched the hundreds of amps out there
but my
preference keeps coming back to the Dac1.

To 'kill two birds with one stone' I believe it would outperform my current
Harmon Kardon HD970 cd player and also provide a high quality phone amp.

Further if the Dac1's are that good I may even consider selling my beloved
ME 24 pre amp...............
