Hello,

Now that Channel Nine has started broadcasting different shows on their
SD and HD channels, I was expecting the EPG to reflect the
different programmes.

As of this evening the Nine HD EPG is showing the SD shows.

It seems that Nine haven't implemented the EPG as well as their
competitors. The over the air EPGs in Sydney for Channel 7, Channel 10
and the ABC correctly show the different schedules of their various
channels (7 Digital vs 7 HD Digital, Ten vs Ten HD, ABC vs ABC2 etc).

So, when are channel 9 going to catch up with their competitors and
start broadcasting a correct EPG?

thanks
ben

Isn't 9 SD and HD the same thing?

Well, IIRC, it took Seven a while to get their HD EPG accurate, too, instead
of just copying the SD one.

As of Thursday evening 20 March it looks like channel nine have fixed
this in Sydney at least and are broadcasting the different SD and HD guides.

I'd like to see them transmitting EPGs that when I change channels on my
PVR that they're displaying the current shows, not the guide from eight
hours ago, or in some cases, tomorrow's guide. I have to then navigate
back or forward as the case may be in order to view current/today's
program listings.

Or maybe this is the PVR (Supernet 160gig) doing it.

I have no problems what so ever with my epg, even the change over on
Sun morning from day light saving to regular time went through without
any hickups.

When I set up my strong pvr I had to set the clock for wa time so that
the epg was correct. Perhaps your pvr is set to the wrong state or
country zone ??

It is set for GMT +10. Daylight savings is active and the daylight savings
zone is set to "Australia". The other option, apart from EU and parts of
the middle east is "Australia, Tas". Presumably the Apple Isle has a
different DST regime to the rest of Oz that observes DST.

I can't believe that the federal government won't step in and legislate to
make it uniform across Australia. Either every state has it and it is
observed as per the international agreements, or it's not observed. None
of this half arsed messed up system that we have now.
