I have a Supernet PVR. It has svideo out, composite video out and
according to the manual, RGB via SCART.

I've been searching the various forums for what this means and what I can
do with it. Best that I've found is this FAQ:

Question: Does the Digicrystal 9000 do Component out?
Answer: The Digicrystal 9000 does NOT do component out, only RGB out using
a SCART connection

It doesn't answer my questions as to how I can make use of this. I
currently have the video out going via composite video as for some reason
the svideo isn't working properly. That is, the picture on my Panasonic
plasma (SD) looks like crap.

So, exactly what is "RGB" (aside from Reg Green Blue) and how does it
compare to svideo and component video insofar as picture quality goes?

A few TV's have RGB inputs, mostly European that use scart connectors. You
can get a RGB to component converter
http://www.hometheatre.net.au/cyu2100.htm

and most Plasma's and LCD's have component in - much better quality than
Svideo or composite (yuk!) The following links should answer your questions.

http://www.projectorcentral.com/component.htm

Thanks for that. Just what the doctor ordered.

Thanks for those links. Some handy info there.

Next question. Can anyone here recommend an AV receiver that doesn't cost
the earth that has multiple component AV I/O ports? My Sony has two and I
need 4 for the Supernet PVR, Austar PVR, Xbox 360 and the Panasonic
DVD/HDD recorder. It also needs component video out for the monitor lead
to the plasma.

It doesn't need to switch HD video as it will be some time before I lash
out on a new television.
