Does anyone know, will the tub from a dual cab 97 hilux fit a dual cab 94
model? Both 4WD models.

Thanks,
Michael

Yes., it will.

You may have also noticed different beds on different shapes
of 'lux.

The guy who is selling it says he tried it on a 94 and it didn't fit but
before he could modify it he found 1 that did fit. He didn't say what
modifications he meant, do you know what he's talking about?

No, It should fit. The design was unchanged.

Unless you are fiting a bed that is of a different
size, from a different model.

That said, there are different clearances so things
might not match up. I've seen that myself. The match
up might not be ferpect between diffent production
lines. The manual might tell you what it *should* be,
however when the vehicle is assembled - it is matched
to that plant. P11 in my case.

They look pretty much the same overall but are different in the panel
design.

This is the 97 model

and this is the 94 model (this is a single cab, I couldn't find a dual cab).

I know. It should fit though.

Of course extra/single/double cab beds, you can't interchange without
work.

You would not be able to fit a single cab bed to a single "cab
chassis"
pickup. The wheel base is different.

What you want to do seems plausible, however xtra cab bed aint going
to work on a double cab without work (and possible engineering cert)

Sorry, I don't want to fit dissimilar tubs. I just couldn't find the right
pic. I just want to fit a dual-cab 97 model tub to a dual-cab 94 model
hilux. I might check it out further to see what the difference would be.

depends on the cab length
the mounting points will be different as they have different chassis
the 94 with solid front axle and the 97 with IFS

so the mounting points and even the chassis width may be different

I should also mention that even a tow bar from a solid axle vehicle will
not fit the IFS model due to the chassis differences
