Are you looking for a day package ? or one of those tour things where you get to spend a few nights out on the reef ?
couldn't have picked a better place for ya honeymoon mate, thou, its been pissing down rain for about 4-6 weeks so hopefully it will fine up for ya..
otherwise you will have to stay indoors.... and i know there's nothing to do on your honeymoon in doors
just watch out for the kangaroo's up here thou, little known fact they are the direct descendants of the t-rex and can grow as tall as 15 feet with big teeth and stuff and are commonly seen roaming the city streets. ;)
when are you looking at visiting ?

LOL my girl is VERY interested in the local wildlife so I'm sure she will be thrilled. We are staying close to brisbane but plan on taking a plane up to cairns and just going out for a day on the reef.

The wildlife is very friendly, just look at this article. You can go swimming with crocodiles and they don't bite. Mind you the croc was only 3 meters so its not like it was a danger to anyone.

or alternatively you could try going on the charter boat mentioned in this article ;)

btw.. you do realise that brisbane to Cairns is about a 2 hour flight ? Seems a bit of a waste travelling all that way and just spending 1 day here when there is heaps to do.

If you just want to go on the reef you could just go to Port Douglas. Much nicer too.

I think we will probably stick with Cairns, we've heard a lot of good things about it. What else is there to do in Brisbane? Figured the scuba trip, a lot of beach time, and a few touristy things would be good.

What kind of experience do you have with diving? If you are novice divers than just about anything off Cairns is great -- awesome sea life and very easy, shallow (i.e. long bottom time!) dives. Michaelmas Reef was a favourite of mine. If you only have one or two days to spare, and are a bit more advanced I would recommend diving the S.S. Yongala of Townsville, instead of Cairns. The Yongala is rated as one of the top ten wreck dives in the world and is just spectacular. Whenever I've dived the Yongala it's been like sensory overload - the size and number of fish and other sea life is difficult to describe. From memory it's about 2 hours out of Townsville. Google Yongala for more info.
As for things to do in Brisbane, there's not that much. You could go to a football game if there's one on. That would be an interesting experience. Otherwise, I'd consider going south to the Gold Coast for some beach R&R and great surf.
