......were the 'real' Cobra's made of fibreglass too?
Love the way it wheelspinned at a standstill whenever she breathed/
hiccuped/looked at the accelerator!

Don't do it!!!!!!!!
That reminded me of watching a V8 1976 model Corolla at a Summernats
(hey, i drove there in an orange combi with peace-symbol wheel covers
and loaded with Eze...........sorry, E Z 2 C warning triangles, so me
no bogan ok?) trying to get out of a parking lot. The amount of lock
available was obviously diminished due to the conversion, and
everytime the driver went from D to R and back again, the wheels would
do a half-turn without him even touching the accelerator. The standard
13" steelies helped too! ;-)

Its a question of who is the biggest idiot, the woman driver or the cars
owner who let her drive it.
I'd blame the cars owner, he's too stupid to own such a car.

That's true.
If I were the driver and I was failing like that to simply get the car
in motion properly, I'd hand the keys back.
If I were the owner and saw someone failing like that to simply get
the car in motion properly, I'd take the keys back. In fact I'd take
the keys back for a lot less than that.

IMO its made a lot worse by the fact thats its a rare car, even if its
not genuine its still a very nice car so letting someone drive it who
hasn't got a clue is an even bigger sin.
Only a very small number of people have driven the mates Lotus 7,
usually the only people other than the 2 of us who built it allowed to
drive are other Lotus 7 owners who appreciate the blood sweat and tears
that go into building such a car.

The woman would have been out of her depth driving an automatic CR-V, and
whoever owned the car was a fucking idiot for letting her behind the wheel.

AFAIK they were aluminium.

The dic*head who let her drive should have his head read. It was obvious
right from the start she had no idea what she was doing and would have
pranged a Lada/Jeep just as quick.

Jesus... that's just criminal - to do that to such a fine machine.
I'd like to know the background story behind how she came to be driving
it to begin with.

I'd like to know why the thing was so unstable as to get totally out
of shape on a straight road.
