divx player to suit me

My son has just given me a Western Digital , My Book 500gb external drive. He tells me i can hook it up to my TV using a divx player. How do i do this and what sort of player is recommended. Your help would be greatly appreciated.:confused:

I spoke with Pioneer (my fav brand for this type of equipment)
they recommended the top of the range model DV-600AV-S
RRP: $249.00 which does everything you need.

You can get media boxes and put a HDD inside it they are around $250 as well but they are dedicated divx etc.. players so would be better suited.

I have heard good things about mediagate boxes but have not used one myself.

The pioneer doubles as an excellent upscaling dvd player.
