Magnavox DVD players are they good?

Hi new to this board, not quite sure how I do this post thing.

I was wondering if anyone out there has purchased one of those Magnavox MDVD-100 for Kmart NZ or Australia? I am thinking of purchasing one myself, but am a little hesitant as my previous cheap no-name DVD player, had to be taken back three times then decided to get a refund. Had another brand with similar problems after this and now am without one at all.

Are these Magnavox/Philips DVD player just another piece of cheap junk or are they ok?

Would really appreciate some feedback

I've had that model for just on a year now, flashed it to region free although the new models may be region free out of the box.
I have had no problems with it at all.
Plays Region 1 (NTSC), 2 and 4 dvd perfectly.
At least with KMart if it buggers up within the warranty they just replace it (at least in Aust).

I have a Magnavox DVD player! Works like a charm. I know this thred is so old but oh well.

Waynus, how do you "flash" the Magnavox DVD players to region free??

Be aware that is is only for the "older" Magnavox MDVD-100. If it's the "new" one then you can't do it.
