It actually raises a question.
Is the correct term 'cactuses' or 'cacti' ? I know the word 'cactus' is
Greek in origin, so is the use of a Latin-style plural incorrect?

Cacti isn't a Latin-style plural. Cactii is, however. <sheesh> And why
would you ever think even for a moment that a word of Greek origin might
have a Latin-style plural. I suppose you think the members of Milton
Orkopoulos's family are called 'the Orkopoulii'? Do you think that,
Kwyjibo? Because it really wouldn't surprise me if you do.

It's incorrect if you're talking English. The plural in English is
denoted by "s" or "es".

Incorrect
Cactii is valid for the plural.
Speedii is not valid for multiple Speeds.

The "ii" plural has never been part of English. It's pretentious. And
it's only ever been used by wankers and illiterates who've been sucked
in by the wankers bluffing them that they speak better English than
them. The same goes for "ae".
"Cactii" is wrong - it's "cactuses". "Antennae" is wrong - it's
"antennas". "Octopii" (which even the wankers don't use, only the
illiterates) is worse than wrong, it's deranged.
"Oxen" is right, however. But i'll leave you to work out why it's right
when the others are wrong.
No doubt you say "octopii" though, so i don't hold out much hope of that.

"cacti" according to my Oxford English Dictionary, with
"cactuses" as an alternative.
> "Antennae" is wrong - it's "antennas".
OED says "antennae" for the ones on animals and plants. But
agrees "antennas" for aerials.

OED agrees, but gives "octopodes" as an alternative (never heard
of it).

It's another pretentious way of saying it. The "podes" part is a
Greek-style plural. It's totally obscure and virtually never used -
except by elite wankers who want to show they're even cleverer than your
run of the mill wanker.
The OED, however, isn't and doesn't claim to be an authority. They only
report what's used in published work (bar spelling mistakes and obvious
errors). There is no real authority on what's right and what's wrong in
the English language (unlike, say, Spanish). But the most commonly
accepted opinions are that of Fowler - which are still reasonably up to
date, despite the fact that he's been dead for decades.
His "Modern English Usage" has a longish article on Latin plurals. You'd
need to read the whole thing, really, but he does tend towards English
plurals, rather than Latin ones.
However, Latin plurals are just that - *Latin*. Not English. And using
them in English is silly and pretentious and was made popular by people
who wanted to show how clever they were.
