Great win by the Doggies on the w/e. Being a long time supporter I
have to wind the clock back 10 years to find a game where they played
so consistently well over all four quarters. These boys DO believe in
themselves. Sans Crawford, and a couple of others, seems to be a
popular reasoning for their loss, but the Dogs were without West and
Higgins too...:>)
Despite beating the unbeaten Hawks, we slipped from 3rd to 4th in
Premiership betting, I guess one can never underestimate the deluded
optimism of those Colliwobble supporters !!
Was laughed at last week when I was telling folks to ignore the press,
Lake/Hargrave or Morris were NEVER going to get 1st crack at Buddy,
Tom Williams was set for that gig 2 weeks ago. One of the few players
in the comp that can match Buddys unique blend of size, mobility,
speed and strength. He may not have Buddy's skills, but what a great
effort from a 16 game player. Gives some credence to the optimism I
have always had with Williams' potential.
Now Doggies, please don't fall back to previous years trap of dropping
your next game after such a great effort... kick the Sainters arses
and cement that top 3 possie. GO DOGS!!!
hooroo....

Great win Swooper dude!! Well not too sure of my other Magpie cohorts
but I reckon that the mighty Bullies and the sensational Hawks are the
teams to beat this year with Geelong, Collingwood, Sydney and Brisbane
making up the rest of the finals numbers with two other pretenders. You
can respectfully forget the rest of the mob.

Geelong and the Pies to be the top two at the end of the year - the
dogs will get smashed by both of them. Not that the dogs are ordinary,
just that these two are a lot better.

Seriously anyone who doesn't highly rate the dogs as a genuine threat

I can bearly believe it, Larry. You are right.
Footscray are in there with a fantastic chance, but I wouldn't put money on them for the flag. Yet.
As for Collingwood - well, any team that gets to practice 18 times on the 'G should be in with a chance. But nah... too many teams better than them; Footscray being one of them....

he has the Doggies winning only 6 of their last 10 games

What a cracker of a season this is going to be. The Cats may tumble. This season has 3 ascendant teams that are already near the top, topping out of course with Collingwood which has improved steadily the last 3 years.
