View Full Version : Subject Lines
I would love to be able to modify the SUBJECT lines of messages.
Hope that Watcher can add this feature one day ;)

G'day guys.
I'd need to look that one up and if it was possible, it's something that I'd have to ask the big boss about.
For the time being, just send me a PM or email and I'll be more than happy to edit any subject headings for you (as long as it's clean and legal :p).

Bloody hell!!! Give me a chance.
It's only been about 8 months since you asked. :p:p:D
From what I can remember, we tried and had a hastle with the set up for these particular forums.
Leave it with me..... ( Don't even think of saying anything Macabre :p)
There isn't an option to do this last time we checked. If we enbled this, then the poster can delete the whole thread. Usually this will not cause any problem, unfortunately we had member who abused this in the past. If people remember, at one stage, a whole heaps of threads were deleted by a certain member. It was quite nasty as deleting an entire thread also causes other members' contribution to that thread to be removed, not mention the post count, which some members do care.

Any possible 'hacks' to implement this or not yet?
I don't want to keep bothering the mods all the time :o

If there will be a hack I do to the forums, it will be done in the up coming major version release. The long waited vBulletin V3.
V3 is a very different beast. V3 beta is out, I just need to allocate sometime to prepare the upgrade.
That would be awesome, thanks :)
Btw: Some very interesting changes in the new beta, looking groovy so far!

Ok, you should be able to alter your own thread title now, but only in the Swapmeet forum.
That's cool, i don't think this would be necessary in the other forums.
I changed my post Giant (2 disc SE in a blue L.E Box) to say Giant *SOLD*, but it didn't work :(

Have you had another try since. You can even delete your own thread in there.
I have tried just now and the changes didn't show on the subject line.
Is it possible that this won't work on older posts from last week only on the post created in the last day or so?

Must be the reason! :)
This was working OK last week but now it's not working again :(
Just tried editing one from few days ago and still won't work, any suggestions?
Will this function ever work again?
It did but only for a few days...
