View Full Version : IE8 very buggy in Win 7

Has anyone else found IE8 to be very prone to freezing/not
responding/chewing all the RAM when several (8 plus) Tabs are opened?

I'm doing a lot of image searches and opening several images in IE8 tabs
causes major freezing problems.

This was not the case with WinXP + IE8 or with winXP + IE7 (all on the
same PC).

I have an adequate amount (2GB) of RAM.

Nope - works OK here. (Also with 2GB RAM)
Have you tried opening IE in no-addins mode?

I don't usually have more than 4 or 5 tabs open at any given time, but I
haven't run into any problems.
Have you checked to make sure all your PC drivers are Win7 compatible and up
to date?

IE8 is running just fine. I upgraded to Windows7 Home Premium 64bit last
week and have had absolutely no problems.

What kind of Video card do you have and are the drivers up-to-date? If
you use Firefox, does the same behavior occur?

I have never used IE. I used Netscape for 10 to 12 years and now I use
Firefox. I try to stay away from microsoft crap as much as I can but I
do use windows, I'm sorry to say.

If you're dissatisfied with a product, quit using it and buy something else.
Not that difficult. . .
