i'm about to buy a teac 2150 player but don't know if it plays ntsc discs. the box says it has "support" to play them, but what does this mean? does anyone have confirmation as to whether i'll be able to play region ones on this player?
thanks,

UPDATE: He says that this following hack works and he can now view a R1 disc I lent him.

I know a guy who just purchased one and they are not Region free and he is going to try a hack he has been given. "NTSC playable" generally just means that if you have a Region 4 disc that is NTSC (and there are some) that you will be able to play it providing your idiot box is also NTSC compat.

The hack (According to TEAC themselves I am told) is to have the tray open, key 2168 on the remote and the screen should display the Region code 4. Then you push the ENTER button on your remote till the Region changes to 9 . No idea if this works though..just what I have heard.

Good luck..if you haven't bought it yet...don't. Spend a bit more and get a true region free....so much less effort.

Hi!
Just like to let you know that the region hack for the TEAC DV-2150 did work. My player is now multi-zone. Just press POWER OFF at the end. Thanks for the help.
