Can any on help me? I had to start my computer from scratch and somehow lost the video driver. Now I have downloaded the correct driver from M571.com but it will not allow me to alter the colours in control panel from 16 colours to 256, When it re-boots it's just the same.

I'm not one to get advice, I have only asked for it on this forum! I had a similiar problem when I re-loaded windows. I went to m571.com, downloaded and installed the correct driver...rebooted and it worked fine! Maybe you can check to see if in fact you downloaded the correct driver for your OS and in fact installed it....

Are you using Windows 98? Are you using the "Win98 Video BIOS TSR v1.13" in addition to the Windows driver? The purpose of the TSR is to overlay (on the fly) the M571 video BIOS with a newer one for compatability with the newer driver.

You can also find this TSR at http://www.m571.com/m571 with the other graphics drivers. Be sure to read the footnote that explains how t use it. Basically, you will download it somewhere on your hard drive (say, C:\M571\597v113.exe). Now edit the C:\autoexec.bat file and add the line "C:\M571\597v113.exe" (no quotes). This will execute the file everytime you boot, thus allowing the v1.13 graphics driver to work correctly in Win98.

Hope this helps.
