Hi,
I've been reading on a few sites that HSU is coming out with some new subs
and I was wondering who was planning on getting one, and what model they are
choosing ?
I have a HSU VTF-2 working with my VAF DC-X, DC-6, DC-7's
and i'm very happy with it.
I was looking at either another VTF-2, or one of the newer models to go in
another room.
they even have a new 6.1 satellites + sub system
eg STF-1, STF-2, STF-3, or VTF-1, VTF-2, VTF-3

Hi Laz,
I too am very interested in one of the new VTF-3 Subs. I will
interested to see how much they are gonna be here in Australia, since
they will be selling them for only US$799 factory direct.
If it seems like a rip off it may be better to get together and buy
direct because of the low shipping rates for orders over 155lbs, this
is what I found on their website….
International Orders
NOTE: INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING HAS RESUMED. We ship to the countries on
the list below. Shipping rates are reasonable if you order over 155
lbs. If you are ordering only one item, we suggest you first go to the
FedEx site using the links below to find the shipping fees for Federal
Express International Economy service. Although there is no brokerage
fee, we cannot quote you the tarif and taxes that you will be
responsible for upon delivery! It is not unheard of for these to be as
high as 20%. Please contact the authorities in your Nation to estimate
these fees.
For orders to Canada, please call us.
For all other countries, orders over 155 lbs (pounds) will cost $1.25
per pound. TN series subwoofers have higher rates because their weight
must factor in volume. Because of this very low rate, it is strongly
recommended you order over 155 lbs. Two VTF-3s or one VTF-3 with two
VTF-2s will qualify.
Other orders under 155 lbs will cost the normal FedEx rate, which is
very expensive at 4 to 7 times the US rate.
With the Aussie dollar so good at the moment I reckon we pick up one
each at about AU$1,500 if you do the maths: $799 x2 +$225
shipping(90lbs x2)= $1823 US
Then add GST & Import Duty +20% = $2187 US or about $3000 AU
Anyway just a thought, maybe we should look into it further when then
prices come out.
Cheers,
Snappyman

Before you do that, talk to Colin at Weststate A/V, I'm sure he'll give you
guys a competitive price, plus his customer service is second to none (I
bought my VTF-2 off him a couple of years ago) so you won't have any
warranty issues.
Sincerely,
Mal

** I found that 'Imports' are marked up too much.
I was after a REL Quake sub, was quoted $1399 from the importer in Melb.
this is a sub that sells for £300 in uk.
I pointed this out, was told that warranty wouldn't apply if I imported one
!
to quote a tv ad 'Trust ! whatever happened to trust'
