Does anyone know if/where I can download a DTS or DD 5.1 test file.

I want some cool sound effects to show off my HT.

Use smarteipper to extract one and then use a 5.1 capable authoring app to
author it to DVD

Thanks heaps for all of your replies.

I am downloading some of the files now!

The Dolby Digital animated logos are actually pretty close to what I was
after but I didn't think to ask for them! Duh!

Anways, thanks again.

Can the files be burnt to a CDR to be played in a DVD player?

vob = mpeg 2 files. Windows Media Player 9 etc will play them... either
rename to mpg, associate with WMP or just drag n drop into a
window/playlist...

Not in my player at least, as soon as it sees it's a CD it won't play ball.

My DVD player reads CDRs fine - I've played a few burnt SVCDs in it. So If I
could burn these VOB files onto a CDR in DVD format hopefully it would be
able to read that. The only question is how do I burn the vobs onto CD in
the correct format?

Nero V6 makes this very easy. Burn as what they call "mini dvd" which
is DVD layout on CDR or CDRW.

So does mine, just not any with a DVD layout, like you're trying to do.

Had no luck with mini-dvd's on my player :(

Shame though coz I don't have a DVD burner yet and was looking forward to
having those animated dd vobs.
