A mate has been looking at eBay auctions of Kurosawa DVD box sets of 7-8
films, which are coming from China. The sets are two boxes of 5 or six
discs with a red cover bearing a stencil-type graphic of Kurosawa's face.

Aside from the OUTRAGEOUS prices quoted for shipping in the auctions,
does anyone know anything about their quality? There are stills on some
of the auctions, but that doesn't say anything about artefacting, or
crap subtitles, and so on.

Example:

845

Informed opinions gratefully received.

MK.

Probably not the same discs, but check out www.dddhouse.com for VERY
cheap Kurosawa DVDs. Do a search on Google for other reports on
DDDHouse.

Quality is quite average (subtitles are sometimes laughably bad), but
they're the same films.
