View Full Version : restore factory defaults - oops !
evening all,
well i upgraded the decoder/firmware earlier this evening, and wasn't too
happy with what i thought was a degredation of the picture quality with my
foxtel sattelite connection, so i opened up the menu a selected 'restore
factory defaults' thinking this may fix things.. bad move !
i know have an e50 error !
can anyone help me restore my connection, i have a foxtel sattelite
connection with an uec dsd-700 decoder with the new firmware that was just
released (version 1).
any help most appreciated.
cheers,
brett
figured it out... had lnb 1 instead of lnb 2..
all is now well :)
cheers,
brett

There you go,, your troubles are over,, Mr Fix-it's here. Only trouble is
your going to have to wait until he learns to send an e-mail..
Bit like the blind leading the blind..
Might be a better idea to phone the right number, and tell-um that you
where playing around with there receiver and you, did something wrong,, Like
touch it in the first place..
Just goes to show,, Life's never simple bassett

You've really demonstrated to everyone how to be a knobhead by making those
statements

Mate,, I,m not the bloke, stuffing around with something I don't understand,
I don,t have a problem,
He does not own the receiver, He hires it,, That will teach him , not to
play with things , he does not understand..
And the other Dork, won't want to get involved, He knows nothing
ether..

"Mate".....im only new to these forums and admit to not knowing much about it all.....BUT all i have seen bassett demonstrate, and I have read alot of posts from him tonight is how much an arrogant loudmouth pig he is.....has anyone see a post from him that actually offered ANY useful information......??? Why badmouth foxtel employee when all he is offering is help ??? you truly are a knob.
From what I can see the forums are here to discuss pay tv and any problems arising from it...which is just what this particular thread is doing...so whats his problem anyhow !

I take it that you don,t read some of the registered forums that I write
for..
I don,t bother with Pay TV, my interest is large dish usage, for all those
interesting FTA signals that seem to collect at my kennel..
These news groups are a relaxation for me,, Most of the questions asked
here, have been asked time and time again. And may I say answered nearly as
many times.. When a simple "google" search will answer the question before
its asked.
The average question involves, little Johnny playing with his remote, and
strangely enough, the receiver settings get changed. Or he climbs up on the
roof, to move the dish to see what will happen. The result is the same of
cause, nothing works..
And time and time again, the people that know about these things repeat
themselves, giving the same answers, to the same questions... After a while
it gets a little boring... So we turn the boring questions into
entertainment for the masses.. And when people bite, and they always bite,
we play them like a fish on the hook, for the amusement of everyone else..
Except people like you of cause, who have just arrived on the scene and have
not read it all before countless times..
So before you mouth off about something you know nothing about, put your
time in, read a few forums, then and only then , can you offer a educated
opinion on what's going on..
Now as our American brothers would say,, You have a nice day..

Your not to bright, are you.. Bit like a light bulb short of a Chandelier,
are we.
If you care to read , my most imformative rendition once again, you will
read the following,,""""After a while it gets a little boring... So we turn
the boring questions into entertainment for the masses..""""""
Now do you understand,,, O put even simpler, I enjoy helping the under
priviliged..

Here's an easy way to fix the bassett problem:
Open his message, and select "block sender".
Now if only we coulddo a similar thing with the ads on TV1 (which seem to
happen at STUPID times during Married with Children, thus interrupting the
flow of the show).
While I'm on ads, WHY do we have ads on UKTV during shows never designed for
ads (promlem 1 - interruption, problem 2 = running late), when the ad is
only a station promo anyway (thus no income is involved)?

I'm not saying there should be capital punishment for stupidity, but why
don't we just take the safety labels off everything and let the problem
solve itself?
