View Full Version : DVDSoon any good?
Just thought I'd trouble you guys with my latest experience purchasing
oversease DVDs online. I had heard from a few people that DVDSoon was
reliable and prompt but I am having a hell of a time either getting a login
account to work as well as trying to get a reply from my numerous emails for
help on this matter.
Long story short, I'm not getting anywhere with their website or support
staff to try and help me work out the bugs in their system - I know for sure
that I have created an account with them (after many other attempts when one
field is missing vital data and it erases half of what I wrote anyway), then
when I finally have gotten over this hurdle the login script offers a couple
of "helpful suggestions" but these go straight back to the login page I was
just in - talk about frustrating, huh?
Anyway, can anyone help me work it out with this particular mob (coz they're
not answering me atm) or can someone else recommend another reliable (and
competitively priced) DVD website? I'm particularly after the Looney Tunes
Golden Collection 4-disc right now so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Rick,
I haven't experienced the problems you're referring to, so I don't
really know how I could be of assistance to you. Never had a problem
getting my account created. As for the mails not getting answered: I
mailed them twice this week, concerning an outstanding order I wanted to
change, and I received a reply within a day on both mails.
Sorry to hear you're having a bad experience with them, hopefully
somebody else will be able to help you out on here.

Make sure you are accepting cookies ok on your computer. Might help, but I
have the same problem and couldnt use the password retrieval system cause I
kept going back to the loggin page like you are. When I emailed them for my
account details it took them a week to respond. There customer service can
be pritty slow but the rest is worth it IMO.

I agree, definitely sounds like you're rejecting cookies from that site.
Also, you didn't put any of the following characters as your username or
password (they may have tripped up their website)?

I had similar problems when I signed up a few weeks ago. I'd given up, but
decided to give it another go a few hours later and it all worked fine.
Now if only my Alias box set would get its arse to my doorstep.

This may solve your problem. It worked for me.
I couldn't get them to accept an account either.
But as soon as I disabled my firewall (Zone Alarm) I got through just
fine.
It's to do with acceptance initially of cookies, I think.
But after that, I've been able to access their site with no problems,
even with Zone Alarm up and running.
And interestingly, the same was true of initially accessing a great
Hong Kong site with unbelievably cheap DVDs (legit too, not pirates),
DDDHouse.com. No way to get through until I disabled Zone Alarm. Then
I got in , and bought Oh Brother Where Art Thou for five Australian
dollars -- not anamorphic, sadly, but good value all the same. And
scores of other bargains.
