The STAT is run by ACER: www.acer.edu.au
They don't seem to have a full test example on the site but they WILL send
you one if you apply to take the test, though in the meantime the left menu
here looks like it might lead to some sample questions:
http://www.acer.edu.au/unitest/index.html
Oh, and my opinion: the most difficult thing about the STAT is trying to
contain your laughter at all the poor saps who were tricked into actually
doing work in year 12.

And you're a fool if you think many people actually get in using their
STAT scores alone.

They sure as hell count for an appalling lot in my direct and indirect
experience (ie me and friends).

It must be different in SA then...a lot less competative than NSW..
I got a really good score and still had to do a foundation course

Even the questions you think look hard really aren't when you just
take a few minutes to think about them.
The maths questions were probably the most difficult, but not beyond
anyone who has at least begun high school.

You get practise tests when you sign up to do it.

LOL that is so true. All those people are so stressed out about yr12 exams, they
don't realise how many alternatives there are to getting into uni.
My OP at the end of school was 11 (on a scale of 1- 25, 1 being the best). I
bludged through a tafe diploma, did the STAT, and upgraded it to 5. Now I am
doing Medical Science.

its a glorified IQ test that's costing me $209 if I fail to get accepted. no
refunds. but yeah, if it is in the same style of an IQ test I should piss it
in. Bachelor of Science here I come!

Yes, of course you have to be 21... but I think you enjoy tertiary education
a whole lot more when you've taken a few years off school anyway.
My score was kinda wasted since I only ever wanted to do a BA anyway, but my
research tells me I could get into almost any degree offered in SA at the
moment, just for that two hour sit down. It's really quite absurd.

I was under 21 and so could not use the STAT on it's own, but combined with tafe
work it gave an excellent score.

yeah, I am 33 and I hope to score a high enough score in the STAT and
combine that with my commercial cookery trade certificate I received from
TAFE.
