G,day everyone. Pulling my hair out as I was using a Foxtel DSD700 at my old address with gold card and everything was fine. Moved 2 weeks ago and got Foxtel connected in new house last Saturday. Installer came out and install the dish and a new silver topbox with red card. Back to the basic package. Tried the gold card but to no avail, so hooked up the DSD700 and tried it with the same results. Keeps searching for the signal. Went into menu and changed frequencies to those listed on here on the 700, but still nothing. Hooked up the silver box and played until I got TV1, but when you change channel, screen freezes. Any help would be much appreciated.

Buy another gold card or call 131 999 and upgrade. You're going to need
to do this come March anyway when the hacked encryption technology is
switched off.

So the new foxtel box and the old, both work with your existing gold card at
your mates place?
Using his dish?

If so I'd just put the foxtel card back in the foxtel supplied decoder and
give them a call to repoint the sat dish.
Does it work with the standard foxtel card at your place?

PS its hard to get good advice here these days, too many fuckwits, most them
also have pirate cards, just think they are better than
newbies.

I didn't realise "hacked encryption technology" had a switch.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i have been told that the new firmware blocks out alot of the gold cards but not all of them. you might wanna go back to get an update.

He's doing a bloody good job. I move that he answers every post that

If you understood how irdeto worked, you'd realise just how stupid that
comment was.
irdeto 1 2 3 4 or 10 is still irdeto.

I agree. At least give him the benefit of the doubt until his posts prove
that he doesn't know what he's talking about, if that happens.

Do some PCs have an "I'm using Usenet so I have to be a fuckwit" switch on
them? It seems that way sometimes.

Yes it is. But Irdero V1 has been hacked and Irdeto V4 has not. Irdeto
V1 will cease being used by Foxtel and Austar in March 2004.
