No, just read episode synopses for the first two episodes then watch the
third, you will get into it soon...
Or download them if you have the capacity to.

Or you could rent the series 1 dvds from your local vide store.

Or rent the DVD's - most Video stores should have them in(one of my
local stores has Series 1 and 2 up for rent).

I've never watched 24, and now I've missed the first two eps of the first
series. Should I bother tuning in to watch from E3 onwards, or have I missed
the plot completely?
Alternatively, I could download the first two eps, and tape the third
tonight, and have a marathon session before watching the rest. Suggestions?

Its not essential but worth seeing from the first episode.
The first two episodes do cover a bit of ground that may be to your
disadvantage to try and pick up as you go along.
As has been already suggested - just rent the videos/DVDs from your
local video store.

OK, I'll compromise... I'll d/l ep 1, read the sypnopsis for ep 2, and watch
ep 3 and go from there. People seem to like it, I was just annoyed that it
got a daily rerun before I realised it was even on.

if you never saw the series before, than I suggest you catch up. its good to
watch the first time around, but I wouldn't watch it in repeats.

Series 1 was good. Series 2 was average. So far Series 3 just plain sucks.

There is no real plot so you can't have missed it. Get the basic details
of what is happening of a website and you will be fine with following
it. The first season of 24 is just continous ongoing action not a
complex story (and Kimmy acting stupid and screaming alot).

I wouldn't go that far. The first episode was dreadful, but its picked
up a lot since then.

The first episode was unusually slow, but it was interesting that it was
picking up a lot of the threads from the end of Season 2 and exploring
them - it almost played out like a season opener for a brand new show.

You obviously dont expect much from TV shows. Its crap. I dont want to spoil
the plot but its the sort of thing that an 18 yr old 1st year arts student
could come up with... and the sort of thing thats been done to death over
the years.

I think it is also setting up characters for the new version ( non tv
version ) of 24 also.
