A big enough hammer fixes anything.

The one with a URL and no description? Sorry, but if people can't
abide by good net-etiquette then I don't have time to read their posts...

I think the URL "gigapixel.htm" gives it away...

I never hit any site that is linked into a post without a description since
being directed to a gay porn site with graphic pictures of men playing with
poop >:(

That's nothing. http://tinyurl.com/phsw has a single 2TB (that's
2000GB) image - a global full-resolution Landsat false colour mosaic.
[Needs a browser plug-in for the active decompression; it will
attempt to auto-install. Best on broadband...]
Gigapixel images like the Bryce one could be displayed on the web
using a similar wavelet compression scheme (Ecw or MrSid).
For example, on the above site, there is a 370MB active-zoomable
mosaic of some nice 35mm scans at http://tinyurl.com/xm7w
