We currently have a palsonic 4:3 letterbox tv and a
sony prologic surround sound system.
We want to upgrade to a more up to date system
but are not quite sure what to get, our budget isn't huge
and so far this is what we are thinking of getting:
LG 100cm Wide Rear Projection TV RT-39NZ40RB best price so far is $2398

http://www.lge.com.au/productsPOP.asp?subtype=TV&RecordID=110581&contenttype
=product&productgroup=Projection
Panasonic Speakers and Subwoofer SB TP20 " "
" $ 649

http://www.panasonic.com.au/hometheatre/components/detail.cfm?CatID=7&Object
ID=SB-TP20
Panasonic Receiver SA-HE75 "
" " $ 549

http://www.panasonic.com.au/hometheatre/components/detail.cfm?CatID=6&Object
ID=SA-HE75
Panasonic Std Definition Digital Rec. "
" " $ 399

http://www.panasonic.com.au/hometheatre/components/detail.cfm?CatID=10&Objec
tID=TU-CT20A

_____
Therefore total budget is around
$3995 say $4000
We already have a decent DVD player but will upgrade that when the
recordables
drop a bit more in price.
We hope someone out there with some good knowledge is able to tell us if the
above
looks ok or can we get alot better for the same sort of price? Any help or
advice is
greatly appreciated.

The Pioneer 811 would probably be in your price range. Just been superseeded
but has everything you would need. Being heavily discounted to.

Speakers
I have heard these and they're pretty good.They can be had for close to your
budget via an Ebay store. Search the group archives for exact pricing

Not that familiar with T.V's but What Hi-Fi and Smarthouse love the Toshiba
36SW9UA and the Panasonic TX-76PW150A(The Panny is closer to your price
range)

Just my thoughts.
