Available at a good price ($399). Looking to replace my Onkyo S555 with a
Scart RGB outputter. Opinions from owners much appreciated.
Should be a good deal better than my beloved Onkyo being 2 years newer!!

A friend of mine has the HK DVD 21 connected to his Loewe widescreen
TV (RGB SCART connection). I don't think he's had any particular
problems, and they hire quite a few DVDs too, and even those read
reliably.
His is multi-region. To check it out fully, he borrowed one of my R1
RCE discs (AntiTrust) and had no problems with it.

Is $399 the going price for this player or is it just a one off?
Other than specialty $Audiophile$ stores in Melbourne, are there any other
stores that sell these units?
Regards,
Bill

Yes but test the player thoroughly at the store. I took an HK DVD21 home and
it had problems with the SCART RGB output (contrast on the RGB output far
too strong so the top 30% of grayscale/colour washed out) and I also tested
another unit at the store with the same serious issue. I don't know whether
it's a design fault with the unit or just a bad batch.
