Excuse me, Admins, I was wondering, when we send Private Messages to each other, do u have access to read them?

And do u guys like get notified (message popup for example) whenever there's a new thread created?

I understand if the answers are confidential.

Unless the forums have been modified to do so, there wouldn't be a feature for the admins to do so. However if any had access to the MySQL database, they could read the PMs through that (but why would anyone want to?). :)

As long as the admins and mods do not monitor the private messages, there can be no action taken against the forums, admins or mods for any illegal or questionable activities undertaken or organised in those private messages.

Nobody wants to increase their own liability - monitoring private messages would be both stupid and boring as hell :D

Ozeagle, I understand ur first reason, it makes life a whole lot simpler.

But the second bit, like I already mentioned, are you sure you wouldn't find it interesting, especially if they were discussing (eg. praising, or bitching) you or one of the other moderators/admins? ;)

Then you'd know who to pick on in public posts.

I'd really rather not - I'm not sure how my naive sensibilities would deal with some of the language which is undoubtedly used with abandon in the anti-moderator posts which you describe ;)

But it would be unfair, and that is why I feel it is best to continue to pick on everybody equally. And in the spirit of this, how come the week in your signature only lasts one day and goes backward in time? :D

All I have to say is that your private messages are private and what you lot say between yourselves in these private messages is indeed private.

However, it they are used to abuse or harrass people and they are forwarded to us by one of the parties involved, we may look at getting involved (as I have done in the past).
