So anyone use pricejapan? Some of the prices on there are so incredibly
cheap.

I usualy buy my expensive stuff overseas and then get it shipped over, but
it's difficult from Japan as I've no family there. Pricejapan any good? Even
if you lost your warranty, some of those savings are enough to buy two
units.

Well said.

People would do well to check Google before posting.

Having said that, I've yet to see a negative comment about pricejapan.com

And if your net connection is anything like mine (at work) you can't access the
WWW to search google and the news server only retains posts for 7 days so you
have to post the question and hope an enthusiast is kind enough to reply with
some useful info.

Agreed. Why people get irritated with people asking legit questions is
beyond me. Even if the question has been asked before.

Nope.

I'd expect buying a CRT TV from pricejapan to be relatively expensive
due to the shipping fees for something that heavy. Projectors are
relatively cheap to ship in comparison. A CRT TV could weigh 10 times
what a projector does, and hence cost ten times as much to ship.

If you still want to go ahead, find some model numbers of TVs available
here and try entering them into PJ's search field to compare prices.

Isn't there a problem with northern hemisphere tubes and southern hemishere
tubes for CRT?

Yes, this is correct, the electrons spin counter clockwise in the southern
hemisphere so the picture is back the front.
Just need to buy a convertor box. I sell them for $80000, fully installed
;)

There was a time when certain top-end tv's & monitors were set up
differently for northern & southern hemispheres due to the different
flow/polarity of magnetic fields. Some large screen tv's even had a switch
that could compensate for actual positioning within each field to eliminate
or minimise colour purity problems...
Not sure if it's still as critical or if more up to date design can
compensate automatically these days...

Excellent email service, globe at my door 5 days from ordering ( that included a
weekend ) and they kindly wrote the price down on the invoice to avoid taxes...
what more could you want.

In November I ordered a Sony HS20 Projector from Price Japan. It was on back order, so I had to wait for two weeks. PJ notified me when they had stock, I transferred the money into their local account and three days later the projector was sitting in my loungeroom. The projector worked flawlessly and I saved aound 45% on the recommended Australia price.
The risk is a problem with the unit requiring the unit to be sent back to Japan.
The round trip price would be around $A300, which is still way less than the $A3500 I saved. :PI

Hey

How do the projectors from Japan work with our powerpoints.
Is an adapter included or do they come with the three pronged AC standard cable plug used in Australia. Any operating hassles with the conditions over here. eg. language, formats etc.

Thanks

Vaughan :rolling:
