I have seen there are some SD set top boxes with built in recorders. Does anyone know if there are any HD set top boxes with built in recorders? I have a HD ready TV would like a HD STB and also a digital recorder to replace my aging VCR.

Cheers,
Wizza

Further to my question......

I noticed these Motorola units.
Are these HD set top boxes and PVR's?
Are there any regional differences / issues with product from the US / Europe, etc? Are the specs for Aust the same?

Motorola DCT5200 & DCT6000 models

There are no HD set top boxes with a PVR available for the Australian market
yet. Overseas ones will not work because Australia has 7Mhz channel spacing
which differs from 6/8MHz in other countries.

First likely contender for a HD PVR box for Australia is
www.topfield-australia.com.au

Keep an eye on http://www.dtvforum.info/ as well, in case someone else comes
up with one sooner.

I should add that in the case of the US, they use ATSC for digital TV,
whereas Australia uses the European DVB-T standard... the channel bandwidth
spacing issue comes secondary to that.
