I watched "Land Of The Dead". This is the sequel to zombie flick "Dawn Of The Dead". The movie had was OK but could have been so much more.
2.5/5 Strictly for Zombie Fans

Also watched Shaun of the Dead late last night.... man this film is hillarious!! It has a heap of cameos(not only from the show Spaced but other UK comedy shows like The Office and Black Books).
A very funny Zombie film.... If you haven't seen Shaun of the Dead before I would recommend it.

5/5
I would call them cameos, more acting roles.

Except both of those are credited.. in the credits. I always thought camoes where not credited, or where done the people acted as themselves, not a character. Meh. Its a great movie.

Since its first use in 1851, a "cameo role" or "cameo appearance" has been a brief appearance in a play (or later, a movie) that stands out against the general context for its éclat or dramatic punch. A cameo role is often played by an actor of greater status than required by the role. A short appearance is also considered a cameo if played by someone better known for something other than acting, such as a director, politician or sport player.

Cameo roles in opera include The Tenor in Der Rosenkavalier Act I, and The Forest Bird in Siegfried.

Allegedly one of the earliest cameo appearances in film history is that of Erik Satie and his artist friends in the silent movie Entr'acte (1924, see below). Mike Todd's film Around the World in Eighty Days (1956) was studded with cameo roles and gave the term wide circulation outside the theatrical profession.

The most famous cameo appearances are probably those of Alfred Hitchcock who frequently appeared in movies he was directing.

Cameos are often uncredited, and, except for a director's appearance in his or her own film, usually involve a spoken line.

"A cameo role is often played by an actor of greater status than required by the role" is the situation here.

i wasnt sure if the stories are supposed to be linked in any way.
because they use the same characters.. but some of them do totally different things.

The stories are linked, though pretty loosely. As well as them being set a few months/years apart. That bit confused me at first, until I realised that the next story had happened before the earlier one.

The final/main Hartigan (Brice Willis) story happened some time before Marv's story. You can tell becauseEvil Frodo is still alive at the farm.
But I'm not too sure when Dwight's story occured.

also .. Marv
is at the bar watching Nancy
during Hartigans story.

so Marvs or Dwights could have happend anytime after that..
hmm.. ok.. im not so confused anymore..
did they do that on purpose .. in the different orders.

Found an Asian movie called The Twins Effect on Showtime tonight and it wasn't bad for an action/comedy/vampire flick. The modern day vampire with the coffin tricked out with automated lid, speakers, flat screen and fluorescent lights was cool.:dD

Watched the first 4 awesome episodes of TILT on ESPN last night. They had the first 4 last night, the next 4 tonight and the season final on Tuesday night.

An old guy takes in 3 excellent, but unknown poker players to help him take down a guy called 'The Matador' (Michael Madsen) who's the big unbeatable (cheating) poker champ in Vegas.
They all have a history with The Matador as he's broken all of them at one point in the past, so this is how they slowly try to work their way into The Matador's inner circle and hopefully take him down for good at the end of the series. There a couple of other side stories that tie into this one too.
It's good show, the cast are excellent and poker fans get to see cameos from real poker champs every now and then.

Poker/ Michael Madsen fans with broadband might want to check it out if they can *nudge, nudge, wink, wink*;) :p
Edit - Just saw that season 1 is already out on DVD in the USA.

I caught a bit of it the other day, when Phil Helmeuth was on it. At the time I didn't realise it was a TV show, and when I saw Madsen I really was thinking, WTF is going on here.

But I did like what I saw, although I'd rather ESPN concentrate on sport and sell the show to FOX8 or something.
