Into The Blue - bascially a no brainer, and fine if all you want to do is drool over Jessica Alba's body but thats about the whole of it.
I haven't watched this movie yet, but whatever you say sounds fine to me.

I keep thinking of the Statler & Waldorf review for that movie.
(or something along these lines)
"That Paul Walker is young, rich and good looking. I'd be jealous if he could act."

Caught Night Watch on the weekend. The Russian vampire flick, it's been described as a Russian Lord of the Rings with Vampires.
It gives a new spin on the legends and myths of vampires and introduced a few concepts that I haven't experienced before e.g. vampires can enter The Gloom and disappear from sight for a period of time, but extensive time in the gloom they will get stuck there and die.
Basically there has been a truce in place for along time between Night Watch (good guys) and Day Watch (bad guys) ensuring that humans have to choose between being good or evil. Of course this is the time when the balance will be tipped and the final battle between good and evil will begin. It's a subtitled film, great visual effects, not as mainstream as other vampire flicks e.g Blade and Underworld.
It's apparently been made into a trilogy. Look out for the episode of Buffy with Dracula is shown.

I watched "The Exorcism of Emily Rose" last night. I really enjoyed this movie, although it wasn't nearly as scary as I had thought it would be.

Last film watched was Heaven, original screenplay by Krysztof Kyslowski, direct by Tom Twyker, and starring Cate Blanchet and Giovanni Ribisi.
This is a magical film. Tragic in the most part, but beautifully paced to keep you enthralled, without having Hollywood melodrama, action or cliches. Highly recommended viewing for all.

I watched Wolf Creek today. This is quite simply a stunning piece of horror filmmaking of the highest world standard. The movie is different to the current trend of supernatural themes and goes instead for believable characters facing a truly horrific situation. We spend a lot of time getting to know the victims before they fall into harms way and they come across as normal people and not the usual brat pack Hollywood teens that we are so used to having foisted upon us in your typical US production. We also have an outstanding performance from John Jarrat as a very nasty piece of work indeed but a full dimensional character. He has a charming, infectious personality with his potential victims and certainly has the ability to fit in anywhere without raising any suspition. These are elements that help to give the film real punch when you realise a real killer may look nothing like the mug shots we see in Australia's most wanted and they could come across as a normal person easily able to gain our trust.
Wolf Creek also goes away from the trend of cheap handheld style and treats us to lush production values. The outback hasn't been so well filmed since Nicolas Roeg's Walkabout and the vast isolation helps to reinforce the hopelessness of the situation the victims find themselves in.
Some of the content in this film will be to viceral for some viewers so be warned your not walking into stylized Freddy Krueger type violence in this film. It's flat out nasty with no punches pulled. You have been warned.

Ok, this is not a movie, but I thought I'd put it here anyway.
Comic relief was on last night to raise money for children's charities. Please, please support it anyway that you can. I happen to know some of those kids that were on the show and they are wonderful, beautiful and hardworking kids. :bah:
I know there are heaps of these fundraisers these days and you cant afford to give to everyone, but comic relief helps the smaller community organisations that very rarely get any assistance and help.
Here's the website if you missed it, or if you'd like to check it out.
http://www.comicrelief.org.au/
I hope it's ok to post it here!! Please let me know if it's not.
Thank you very much for your attention!! :) ;) :p

Just finished watching Numb3rs Season 1.
I think this is really good. IMO better than CSI.
It's good how they don't go through all these coroners but using math to help solve the crime.

I watched Bubba Ho-Tep, it was different and a very slow movie but I didn't mind it. I had never heard of it until one of my daughters brought it around to watch, I wouldn't say it was a great movie I did enjoy it though and told my daughter not to waste money on dvd's like that. :D

I've just witnessed Wolf Creek and to be honest didn't find it anything to special.
The violence, the blood wasn't that big or repulsive at all IMHO. I think David on the movie show, must be weakening in his twilight years on this aspect. As for the disturbing nature of isolation, I thought the Blair Witch Project portrayed it better.
And a few errors in geography as well. For instance, Wolf Creek is not that isolated. Its a tourist attraction, there is a tourist centre, and 3 hour walk to the crater. When I went, was nothing more than 5 to 10 minutes, so don't know whats going on there.
But now the glaring one, besides a shit load of SA plates in WA. When the chick which doesn't become a head on a stick runs, she ends up on a bitchumen road. Now Jarrat's place was South of Wolf Creek, which is further down the Tanami Track road. There is no bitchumen road for a hundred kilometres, shits its so rough you'd need a 4wd, but yet she finds the bitchumen. A bit unrealistic, and Nathan Phillips rescued by some backpakers. That kombi would not have made it up the Tanami Track from Alice Springs. No F'ing Way -- if you've never been there, then maybe this wouldn't matter, but it lost a lot of the realism in my book.
With all this aside as well as the disappointment of it not being as extreme as I was wanting, no more than a 2.5 / 5, and certainly not warranting a DVD purchase.

Man, you're a tough critic. I thought it was an excellent movie and what sorta gore were you expecting if what you saw was disappointing?? It was enough for me and I'm a nurse! :p
I saw Flight Plan yesterday. Thought it was pretty average at best. The whole thing is unrealistic with a rather pathetic exploitation of terrorism to make a buck. It totally lacked suspense and the acting wasn't that great either. I'd give it a 4.5/10.
