I have just watched Underworld for the second time and my opinion is that it looks great, sounds great and aint great. There is just one thing missing, the story and most of the characters just don't grab you out of your seat and shake you like the visuals and soundtrack does.I think Kate beckinsale does a pretty good job but her support players are average to say the least.
Think back to when you first saw Blade ?Wesley snipes had some wonderful support characters that made it really good,Whistler, frost, karen, quinn were all memorable. In this movie they all fade into the background like there just running through the motions.I think it makes a top demo disc but not a top movie. It's a shame, they wasted a great opportunity :(

Desperado, is a great action flick, laced with some great comedy....
Sounds bloody awesome too...
Once you've seen it, check out El Mariachi and see where it all began

I would feel pivalliged if i where you judas, the first time i saw Das boot was on video with a 34 cm tv through a mono tv speaker :( .
You have the chance to see the directors cut in widescreen with a superb remastered dts soundtrack! You lucky c*%^ ;)

First and second time I saw it was on a nice big theatre screen in surround sound, two nights in a row. Even on the second night I found myself looking away from the screen towards some noise off to the left of the "submarine", then feeling like an idiot :) . Best use of surround sound to envelop the viewer I've ever seen.

I havn't seen das boot yet either so your not the only one Judas, but Starship Troopers is a very good movie you'll enjouy it when you see it, well I only know one person who didn't like it.

Sure, just mail me off a DTS speaker setup and ill be right :D
hell even some dolby 5.1 would do. atthe moment i've got my dvd player sound setup through the "AUX" of my cd player... but the minute i do get some DTS capability, im going to commandeer the 181cm tv from downstairs, put it in my walkin cupboard with my speakers and just stay there for a long, long, long time.
oh, and just to clarify, is starship troopers the same movie im thinking it is, where people fight giant bugs, and was made in like 97?

That's the one! Just make sure you don't take it seriously and you'll have a hell of a good time. :)

Just watched the original The Out-of-Towners with Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis. Hilarious view of absurd, spiralling bad luck - very cynical but a classic comedy of desperation. Best laughs I've had in a while - think I'll skip the remake though.

The film is one giant shot, at the propoganda governments have used to promote national pride and war...

Just finished with my R1 underworld dvd... very interesting, cool with all the vampires and werewolves fighting and stuff, but the story has plotholes i could drive my truck through, along with the movie not going into enough detail about either of the species or the background, which would have made an improvement. like how in blade they explained the mythologies that applied to vampiures for that certain film

Just watched Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade - another great Indy outting, and hopefully is the last. A 4th installment now would be like doing a Star Wars trilogy after ROTJ.. Oh wait, Lucas did that..
