Felt like i hadnt been to the cinemas is ages, so went and saw Sunshine. Heard some good reviews, but heard some bad goss. The movie was pretty good, got a lil weird towards the end but waht i enjoyed the most was visual effects and imagery. Im glad i saw it just for the eye-candy. Definately a thriller, i dont think ive jumped that much in a movie before :D scared the be-jesus out of the fella next to me

Got a special invite to go see SPIDERMAN 3 sponsored by Seven.

They had finger foods and drinks etc.. and a dude dressed up as spiderman doing tumbles and photos for the children (and big babies). There were also prizes and give aways etc.. They had the cinema all done up with spider webs and stuff.

the movie was excellent !!!!!!!! nice action sequences, plenty of laughs.. enough boohoo sniff sniff parts for the girls and incredible special effects.

I hope all the so called block busters coming out in the next few months are this good, if so, we are in for one hell of a treat.

Am I the only one who has no intention of seeing Spiderman 3 and thinks that the first one was shite and hasn't bothered watching all of the second one as it was just as shite. Yeah, I think I might be, :p

Just watched The 300 Spartans and it was as good as I remembered from my childhood. It was obviously very similar to 300 since they are based on the same events and the quote " We shall block the sun with our arrows.... Then we will fight in the shade" was also in this movie.
One thing I love about these old movies is that they had masses and masses of extras and huge sets ad you see people trip and stumble or walk out of line and it's more realistic, where as these days, they just do most things on computer and it can be a little too perfect at times.

I watched Spiderman and I didn't think to much of it so I never bothered with the rest and won't. I haven't really seen to much lately, just been watching the 5 series of McLeod's Daughters I borrowed off my sister, still up to the first series but not bad viewing. :boonie:

I tend to watch comic book films - it's what drew me to 300. But I'm not a fan of the first two Spiderman films and will probably skip this one. I almost bought 300 Spartans for $9.99 at JB Hi-FI but when I went back it was no longer available at that price, so....

I watched a very cool pommy si fi movie called Children of Men.This is easily one of the best i have seen in the genre for quite a long time and struck me as more viceral and involving than recent yank efforts like The Island,Minority Report ect. Those seem to lean heavier dazzling us with cgi and dropping A list actors in the plumb roles. This one is better written, better performed by lesser knows and the action scenes are good old fashioned edge of your seat stuff. This ones a keeper for me.

Couldn't agree more and the use of single takes was a great idea and very effective.

Alot of people told me that movie was a bit strange and not that great, so it took a while for me to get around to watching it, but I loved it, one of the best films I've seen in the last couple of years. That scene where they're driving and get ambushed was pretty powerful, it kinda came out of nowhere with a bang.

I watched Thankyou For Smoking lastnight, a bit of a satirical look at the world of cigarette companies and their "profit at all costs" mentality. I highly recommend it, 4&1/2 out of 5 for me.

Put that bit in spoiler tags just so people don't know what happens. Not much of a spoiler, but it won't hurt to cover it up. - Watcher

Bloody good pommy film, and well worth a watch or two.

I watched Spider-man 3 on Thursday and I loved it. Sam Raimi directed all 3 movies and it shows. The movie is also rather imperfect (i.e. shoddy computer graphics) but it is easy to get caught up in the drama, and overall, it's a good story that makes it worth watching.

Well now - I have just been told that Drive - the new series from fox has just been canned after four fricken episodes. Any series that Nathon Fillion is in can't last more than a two seasons can it??

Got a couple of movies last night. 5 for $7 aint bad.

The Deer Hunter is one ive been meaning to see. Heard some good things, and DeNiro being my idol, had to be pretty decent.
Overall wasnt bad, but wasnt great either. DeNiro was awesome, but the movie just seemed... unfocused. Like not even the film itself knew where it was going. Might have been just me, cause it was a long movie. Certainly enjoyed the hunting scenes though, very peaceful.

Also saw The Number 23 last weekend. Had no idea waht it was a bout, so had no expectations. Was actually a very good film. Some may find it a bit predictible, but the movie is exciting and enjoyable throughout.

Only seen the Deer Hunter once, and enjoyed it. But yeah long.

To me it showed, what life was like in a hard working town, and what life becomes when war has impacted on the minds and souls of these folk.

but how Walken's character ended up, seemed a bit odd to me though
