Just watched Zodiac. Wouldn't recommend it unless you like sitting through 2 and a half hours of a Thriller/mystery movie to not have any twists, and to have one of those endings which is just text on screen telling you what happened. It's quite an interesting true story, but as a movie I found it long and boring with not much action.

This would have to be one of the most rewatchable movies of the year for me with nuances in the script and performance and a wonderful cinematic style that takes you back to the 70's.I have the dvd ripped to hdd but i have to say this one suffers from an over compressed look that make all the fine details appear blocky on the screen even when upscaled to 1080i.The fact that it was filmed with HD cameras and not 35 mm means it doesn't transfer well to a squeezed down SD format.Thank god it is a Warner title and will get to be seen in all it's 50gb HD glory on blu-ray :boonie:
I watched Face Off blu-ray.10 years since this silly idea for a film was unleashed on us with some trademark John Woo style. The transfer is pretty much flawless with color natural, detail great and blemishes nowhere to be seen.5.1 uncompressed audio is the best i have heard on my system.First The Rock now this pretty much all the dumb action bases are covered :boonie:

Is the buttefly knife scene edited on Face/Off. Some of the DVD releases here had it edited in the past, because of the pommies, and BVHE giving us the same disc.

The BD is most certainly not edited and leaves the scene in tact. :)

Excellent. It'll be a future purchase. It is one of those movies, which gets a bit better with each watch. Still a popcorn flick.

The speedboat scene still has to rate as one of the greatest action sequences in film history for mine and looks as good on BD as anything you will see on the Casino Royale disc.

I like the sequence at the end in the church, and the birds. Very much homage to the classic The Killer. (Cannot it be a homage though as both are Woo's films)

Watched Shrek The Third the other night, typical hilarity that you'd expect from the Shrek films. Also watched The Bourne Ultimatum, pretty good film that brings the whole 'who am I?' theme to a close. There was one scene I thought was a bit silly, because it was pretty much the exact same scene that finished The Bourne Supremacy, with Jason talking to Pamela Landey on the phone, and saying "get some rest, you look tired", and she looks out the window trying to spot him. As is usual for the Jason Bourne films there was an exceptional car chase scene, with plenty of smashes and skids and brilliant driving, and the hand-to-hand combat scenes are frenetic and brilliantly choreographed, as you'd expect.
This afternoon I watched a bit of Heaven And Hell - Live From Radio City, that I just got. For those of you unaware, it's Black Sabbath basically with the second incarnation of the band, though the drummer first joined at a later point in time. It's absolutely brilliant, the sound quality is awesome and the band is flawless, Dio has still got an amazingly powerful voice for an old guy.

Since everyone is so smart, I was watching a preview of a movie at the cinemas, and one part they showed got me laughing.
They were bashing up an asian guy, and the asian guy started talking in a language that was not asian or english.
The black guy turns around to his friend and asks him what the dude is saying, and his friend goes "I don't know, I think he's speaking French"
so the black dude turns around and before punching the guy goes "dude, stop embarrasing yourself, your asian, not french"
Anyone know what it is?

You don't get it? Well it's only one of the funniest and most original shows ever created, unless How I Met Your Mother is more your thing. :|

I seriously hope you're joking. Seriously though, if you give Arrested Development a chance it might grow on you, season 2 is heaps better than season 1, there's some pretty twisted storylines in that show. If you haven't seen the American version of The Office give that a go, it's bloody hilarious.

I'm with you on The Office. I've caught a couple of eps, and actually found them to be quite lame. :|
