Watched the 1959 Hammer horror film of The Hound of the Baskervilles and found it an intriguing hybrid of horror and detective story. Nice version of a rational man's attempt to explain/defeat the seemingly irrational notions of "evil" around him. Great 1950s Technicolor look makes for a wonderful, broodingly colorful atmosphere. Always liked the use of colour in these early Hammer horrors.

Watched Russian Ark. Needs another viewing, as it took half way through the film until I woke up...
But is an achievement doing one take, but after 97 minutes your dying for a cut away to a close up..

I wish they would release that SE of The Game( it has been rumoured for a while a SE of The Game would be released..... ). The only reason I have been holding off buying this disk is because of this.

i'd buy it in an instant, one of the few films where i wouldnt mind buying the same film twice.
back O.T i just finished watching "bloodsport", the classic van damme film from 1989. easily one of the best martial arts films ever, somehow manages to avoid being cheesy even with that storyline and music. well worth the import.

You really need to order some more stuff in from Hong Kong and China if you think that's one of the greatest martial arts films ever. ;)

Under Siege .... *snore*
Just finished Disturbing Behavior , which was one of the very first DVD's I purchased. Still has the $39.95 price tag on it from Target. I don't think K-Mart had more than a dozen titles at that stage or if they did they sucked...
Still enjoy the film, but after watching the trailer and seeing many deleted scenes in it, I wouldn't mind the R1.
But for such an old DVD, it certainly uses the 5.1 stage superbly, and except for the odd grain here and there the picture quality is excellent.

The Victorian giants lose to the wildcats by 3 points on a buzzer beater, man it was almost a draw or even a win for the giants. Hey it may not be a show but I watched it and I found it very disapointing. It was a real good game though.

Just watched Intolerable Cruelty
the opening sequence with Geoffrey Rush was great, but the then credits kicked in and I saw it was the Coen brothers, which I tend to only like 1 in every 5... This wasn't that magically on, and certainly spiralled downhill after that

In Hell, More Van Damme, except this one is prettymuch the only good film he's made since 1994. its something of a drama, different to usual but it works fairly well. he still kicks everyones ass but.
