I just watched the pre-credits scene from the first episode of the new season of Angel - was very funny. Shame it looks like I'll be missing the rest of the episode though... damn thunderstorm has taken out Ch7 completely and the pictures from Ch10. :(
Guess I'll be frantically trying to download the episode before next week. Hopefully I'll be able to find it. I don't like my chances of Ch7 putting it on again for those of us who lost reception.

Just watched the Criterion release of Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris.
Brilliant, is the only work applicable. The opening scene with the beautiful photgrophy of the water was breathtaking, and I only wish I had a bigger tv to full appreciate it even more.
The repeated score, chilling / beautiful / haunting all in one and the final scene, wow.... Still sends chills down the spine and sends the brain in overload trying to establish it all.

i've been watching 'All Quiet on the Western Front' for English at school. The temptation to stare at my knees for the whole movie is rather difficult to bear...too bad we have to do an essay on it.

I've just watched darkness Falls! Yep pretty predictable! "Oh no the baddy can't come into the light to kill you... oh no it's a blackout!" dear lord!! Then after that someone has to put on The Ring... why do we feel compelled to watch what scares the crap out of us!
Oh by the way spot the "Aussie" actor in Darkness Falls.. and is'nt that the Henderson dude from Torque in The Ring?
Oh goodness me i just did a lil research... try to spot the "american" actors in Darkness falls cos the cast is 90% Aussie hows that for an american horror Movie!

Bad Boys II. not a horrible film, but pretty dull. Joe pantoliano's little rants as capitan are the highlight.

Just finshed watching the rather fablous film Almost Famous, the Directors Cut(which is on the 2 disk Bootleg Cut Ed - found in R1).
I would say this would be close to Cameron Crowe's best film- has some great songs from the 70's included on the soundtrack and Philip Seymour Hoffman(Lester Bangs) is excellent.
I actually prefer the directors cut(35 mins longer) over the Theatrical Cut for some reason- anyway if you haven't seen Almost Famous it is a worthy hire at least(the R4 single disk that is), or if you are a fan of the film- then you have to get the 2 disk Bootleg Cut(the R1 also includes a 6 track cd by Stillwater, the band featured in the film.

Just finished watching the first episode of the new season of Angel, which I taped Wednesday night. Not bad - shows promise.
Also because I left the tape running, I taped "Miracles" too. Great little show that - unfortunately, I am pretty sure it has already been axed in the US :-(

I watched Angel after taping it as well...... I still think it's gone silly he's a vampire in daylight and it never bothers him :rolling: , I used to love the show but I think it's had it's run now. But like you Cowboy I left the tape going and watched Miracles too, it wasn't to bad I enjoyed it even though I had never seen or heard of it before. :)

Yeah - Angel not what it used to be. I've been going back watching Season 1 on DVD. Some great lines there!
Eg. Cordelia to Doyle "You're smarter than you look......but you look like a retard"
Angel to Demon thug "if you're lucky you'll last 10 minutes against me. Really lucky, you'll be unconscious for the last 5".
I just checked the official "Miracles" website - 13 episodes made (we saw ep. 8 Wed night). Official status in the US is that 6 episodes have been shown, and the show is "in hiatus" at the moment.
