I bought a 2000A in September which worked fine until about a month ago,
when it started doing odd things such as popping up the channel menu at
random intervals and not highlighting the current channel when bringing up
the channel menu. It gave up displaying picture and sound last week...
Your best bet is probably to swap it over for another one, or put yourself
out your misery and obtain a more reliable STB.

If that happens to mine, which has been working fine since June 2002, I will buy
a PC digital tuner card.

Dgtec tech support say the 2000a has a known problem of randomly repeating
the last pressed command, which can't be fixed. They recommend pressing the
SEL button after every command, so it repeats SEL, which has no effect.
Rediculous.

This is a problem commonly reported with the 2000a. An unsubstantiated "fix"
is to ensure that you have good healthy batteries in your remote - given
the OP's comments that it "worked fine until about a month ago" then this may
help.
