We have threads for everthing else, so how bout this one.
Maybe include the region and why you chose the region and film, cos I am sure this would help us discover some new titles, and some better versions of our favourite films.
I'd start but I haven't anything on order yet, maybe later this evening.

Well I went to order the BFI edition of Salo, but when asking a friend from another message board if I could have it shipped to his house ( he's in England, customs wont let the film into .au ) He said he would buy it and ship it out to me, his treat.

That was good.. Certainly the best way to dodge customs... Just remember the film is nearly 30 years old, so it won't be as shocking as you may be hoping for..

Hey ghosty, you have some great dvd's on order there.Just as a mater of interest i wonder if you have wes anderson's bottle rocket ?If you havn't it would make a great addition to the other couple.
The only thing i have on order at the moment is zhang yimou's Not one less .I get my copy of Underworld next week though.
I havn't done my order for the feb 3 releases yet but i will of course be getting American spledor & Lost in translation .
The big question is do i bite the bullet and get the r2 version of Azumi now that i have missed out on the 2 disc limited edition? :( $46 USD for the single disc only version.

Yeah I have seen Bottle Rocket eric, and to be honest- it is my least fave wes anderson film(I caught it late at night last year on TV), I may well get it with my Next dvd pacific order- but not a top priority for me right now.

Just placed an order at cd-wow HK store.
Infernal Affairs - 2 disc set. Been dying to see this film, and who can be bothered waiting and finding which littl cinema will run it in the next few months - when it can be ordered on line.
Amelie - R2 - 2 disc set. death sent me a heads up on this one, but I was too slow and it went out of stock, but it is back again - and worthy of a purchase.
Whole order only set me back $35.00 shipped.. Total bargain in my book.

Also just purchased The Conman from ddd house. $5 for the DVD + $5 for the postage. I just hope the quality is good, at least as clear as it looked on SBS the other night. I wouldn't expect too much more for $5.

Yeah this is a excellent choice Tsargrad, I have the 2 disk R2 myself- anyone who has had the R4 Magna Pacific - this is worthy of an upgrade from this(the single R4 disk to the R2 2 disk), the subtitles on the R4 are awful and there are some cool extras on the R2, not on the R4(as well as having the DTS track, also missing from the Magna Pacific release).

Yeah the dts was my main influence, plus some of the special features... Also not a fan of burnt in subtitles like on the R4.> Although I cannot speak French, who knows I might just learn one day.

Just ordered the Unrated edition of Swimming Pool. Heard plenty of good things, besides the large amounts of nudity....

All the Amazon.com links on their Swimming Pool page are of erotica. The 'what other customer's bought' listings are of porno...

I guess that shows the yanks, don't appreciate a film as art, and instead buy it to stroke

Put a few more on order, from around the globe.
The Canadian release of Irreversible, starring Monica Bellucci.. Sounds like it may be very graphic, and uncomfortable to the viewer.. Which I am hoping for.. Want some shocking cinema.
Also the Korean release of Malena, another ericb recommendation, starring Monica Bellucci again.. This version is the only full cut of the film with English Subtitles.
Musa - The Warrior: 2 disc Korean, which is also the full cut of the film, and apparently will compliment Hero nicely.
Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance: R3 Korean release... No holds bar film from the sounds of it - telling and showing how it is...

and also the R3 2 disc set of Memories Of Murder - which is based on a true story in the mid 80's in a very different Korea from today. The film allegedly is brutal, but still was No. 1 film in Korea up until October 03, and has a strong recommendation from ericb, so that was good enough for me to order... Definitely sounds the most intriguing of the 4 films ordered from this site...
