Havent heard mention of dead pixels in modern LCD projectors, are these
pretty much a thing of the past these days?

It's also much harder to spot dead pixels due to them being smaller, the
design of the matrix plus 'redundant' pixels are becoming more common.

Is this a good time to say I have just noticed 1 dead pixel on my
Sony 11HT at around 600hrs. It is just great that it is in the
bottom RH corner of the screen and you really have to look for
it.

This is from a guy that gets *every* stone chip in his windscreen
at eye level!!!!!

LCD panels age due to the heat.

Just imagine how many you will have at 1500 hours ?
