Why is it that only the cheap crap brands offer all the features that the
people want.
I hate that the large electronics companies release products with less
features so that they have an upgrade path the sell more units. Even though
the technology is available.

Some higher priced units from REAL hifi companies contain better quality
components.Plug one of those cheapy units into a good quality system and you
can hear just how bad they are.
To answer the op's question , features may well be contained of a few
inexpensive LSI chips ,what actually costs all the money is good quality
power supplies , resistors , capacitors etc ,etc
So "If it makes you feel better you can pay a lot more and get the same
functions." but with the correct products you should also get better sound
and picture quality.

Yeah by the time i figure out what I am missing out on and how shocking my
life is without it, it will be on special again for $70 in the 2005 model.
Dont you get it ...... this is about 20 years ahead of what the rest of the
world has, like 90%, and here we are crapping on about 4 cent components.

So what Miro is saying is " I'm happy with crap just so long as everyone
else has crap too!" Great way to advance a civilization that one.

If you do an A-B comparison between the Nintaus and say the Phillips Q50,
you might notice a difference ..... but like others have said, for 5 to 10
times the money. IMO it is really not worth that much more. Snob value
doesn't cut it with I'm afraid. Function is everything for me. What annoys
me are the people who pay $$$ for some (eg B&O) sculpture which produces
sound/vison as a byproduct
It's your money, so be my guest.
