Foxtel say they are starting in March in all their press releases
Telstra say they are starting up in June, when you ring up and ask.

I'm not looking forward to a whole month of 'Digital is coming'

No they havent, they made a point of not mentioning the start date. That
will be announced in the coming weeks.
Austar however did announce when theirs will be starting and many have seen
it as the same date for Foxtel

The original article in the newspaper is quite specific. It makes no mention
of resellers.
"The digital revolution will almost certainly put the company into the black
for the first time.
From June Foxtel will provide digital access to about 130 channels. Many of
them are among the 50 or so channels provided by the analogue Foxtel."

Incorrect.....in fact I have the interviw on tape and have reviewd it.
A start date has NEVER EVER been mentioned 'officially' by Foxtel in
any capacity, just the press making their own assertions.

thank you Thomas for checking out facts for me about the AUSTAR launch date
that you saw somewhere, and not the Foxtel date, which was not what we were
talking about, sheesh some people think it is all about Optus and Foxtel in
here, it is aus.tv.pay, not aus.tv.capital.pay

When I sent the original item to this newsgroup, I thought it might
stimulate intelligent discussion, not degenerate into a name calling
free-for-all.

that sounds about right "from June...."
but things are happening before June, like 1st march.
Austar staff are getting the new stuff mid Feb for trial

Nothing as low as pretending to have a rep from Foxtel on auspaytv.com
calle 'DUKE' and then have naive website readers ask him questions
with answers that are freely available.....it's funny how he has never
shown up in this forum.......now that is lower than rock bottom!
