I installed two pc 100 64 mgbyte dimms and removed all 4 simm, as per manuel. no boot up., installed simms and one dimm and it boots but I get a invalid dynamic link

Chances are the dimms weren't fully seated in their slots, and that can be hard to do with newer (thicker) dimms in a M571. The board will also flex in the middle if dimms are installed with the mobo in the case.

Remove the mobo from the case and put it on a table with a piece of cardboard under it. Then reinstall them, pushing as hard as necessary to seat them so that the latches snap back in on their own.
