Digital TV with DVD Recorders?

Do DVD recorders incorporate a digital TV tuner - or are they still analog?
Further...if they are digital, are they SD or HD? Are there any
manufacturers out there with a HD DVD Recorder?

interesting ...
I checked www.sony.com.au (for AUS range) and www.sonystyle.com (for USA
range) and was unable to find any DVD recorders with a HD (or SD) DTV
decoder.
can you tell us more ? eg, model number, or where you read about/heard/saw
such a beast ?

OK then, I'll bite. Which models of DVD recorders have digital tuners? And
which are HD (high definition)?

I concur - there are no DVD recorders currently available in Australia with a digital tuner - they only have analog tuners. Also the highest quality recording on any of these DVD recorders, with or without a hard drive, is SD PAL.

Obviously he is one of those people that think Digital = HD and Plasma = HD.

In hindsight I realise he misunderstood HD as meaning hard drive, and of
course those are available (abeit still with analogue tuners).
