I fail to see how they are wasted just because you cant drive at warp speed
in this country. Safety is a big plus. I saw a show in the Discovery Channel
about motor vehicle safety. They showed an Autobahn cam of a merc
convertable doing (they estimate) 250kph plus around a sweeping bend. The
merc hit a guard rail, crossed 3 lanes and hit the other, flipped onto it
roof and slid 400m into a gully. You then see the driver climb out and run
up the embankment.

Yeah was on Discovery Channel maybe 2/3 weeks ago. No doubt they will repeat
it again (and again).
