Loewe and Progressive scan

I am looking to hook up a progressive scan (Y-Pr-Pb outputs) DVD
player to my Loewe Calida 5684z (with VGA card installed).

What is the best way to go about this, and what equipment will I need?

a component to vga converter (progressive capable).

also, to check what the resolution and refresh etc limits for the VGA in on
the Loewe are. I seem to remember that some of the Loewe VGA ins are
limited to 640x480@60Hz(NI) where as progressive PAL DVD is
720x576@50Hz(NI)
