Hi everyone.
I've seen your threads around soft/firmware updates from Thomson and agree that it is a myth as none exist!
I thought I'd ask for your help with a problem I experienced last night. My darling wife, middle name luddite, tried to turn everything on whilst I was away and proceeded to bang buttons all over the place resulting in the turning on of captions/subtitles through the topbox, dvr6000au.
That was fine but there was no way I could turn them off again. I tried absolutely everything and had to end up deleting everything and retuning the device! Unbelievable! It seemed that when the captions were on properly they would be blacked out behind them but, when "off", they were still there but not blacked out behind! Most frustrating.
Have any of you a) got a dvr6000au or b) experienced and resolved a similar problem?
TIA

Didn't you read the bit that's not in the manual? :-)
Press "0" when viewing to toggle captions.
