Well, at last 7 has got the message. The Grammy's are being broadcast in
widescreen 16:9.

And what message might that be?
If Ch 7 receives the source program in 16:9 why wouldn't it show it in 16:9?

The message from the digital viewers that they are sick of 7 broadcasting
sport and other programmes in 4:3 aspect ratio.
More often than not, programmes received from the USA via satellite (all
channels) are only 4:3.

This is already been discussed in a post elsewhere. Channel 7 apparently were required, as host broadcaster, to televise the tennis in 4:3. We might be sick of it but don't be surprised if they do it again.
More often than not, programmes received from the USA via satellite (all channels) are only 4:3.
And this may well change in time as widescreen programming becomes more prevalent in the US.

Yes when you are talking about $even (4+3) you can thank the lord for
small mercies if you get 16:9 from a 16:9 original. It was however
terrible sound and the edited cuts seemed like it was done by an intern.
