View Full Version : DivX forum under 'DVD related' section?
Hi, just wondering if it would be a good idea to have a seperate 'DivX stuff' section under the 'DVD related' section (like the current 'DVD stuff' section)
This would allow people to discuss DivX related hardware and issues without clogging up the DVD related section.
Just a thought...

There seems to be enough interest in this format to justify a new section, given that there will be some new models on shelves in the next few days it's likely that there will be similar questions for those models also
The new forum has been created. Things need to be decided will include: how to divide the topics between DVD Stuff and DivX Stuff? I welcome any inputs on this.

Yer not a bad idea. I have had a few questions over time that I have wanted to ask about the DivX format and it could well be a good idea.
Thankyou, perhaps leave it just as a section (similar to the DVD stuff section), and just let it float around as the DVD stuff one does.
Now we can break up particular issues on different players etc. (like 'Can't play low bitrate audio on xyz brand', 'these discs do / don't work' etc)
Thankyou.
Can you move the XMS-888 thread out of DVD stuff into the DivX section?

You gotta keep the discussion going fellas!
Its been a great source of information for myself. I bought the xms-888 only to play downloaded divx files and have learned just about everything I know about open source multimedia from the thread.
I'm even starting to dabble with video editing.
Now I need a bigger hard drive, broadband connection, etc.
The upgrade spiral begins
Keep the information coming!

You see you are starting to get it, at the moment this is very much a hobby format (I'll change thoughts on that when Video Ezy starts putting Divx titles on the shelf) you start by thinking this will be good to play all this stuff I downloaded, then you realise that not all files are created equal, so you learn a bit more, then you realise you can do it better and all of a sudden you develop an interest in editing and it just spirals from there
